Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a waterfall chasers paradise. You literally can’t step two feet in this country without bumping into another waterfall! Some of my favorite waterfalls in Costa Rica are Rio Celeste, La Fortuna, El Tigre in Monteverde, and Nauyaca near Uvita.
Iceland
Iceland is another destination that’s rampant with waterfalls and other natural wonders. It has one of the most powerful waterfalls in Europe – Dettifoss. Some of my other favorite waterfalls in Iceland are Gulfoss, Skogafoss, and Kirkjufellsfoss on the Snaefellsness Peninsula.
Zambia
Victoria Falls, on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, is considered to be one of the seven natural wonders of the world. I visited Victoria Falls on the Zambia side during the dry season, and it was almost completely dried up.
On the bright side of that, it meant I could swim on top of it at the Devil’s pool and go river rafting on the Zambezi river underneath it. But if you want to see this waterfall in all its glory, then you’ll want to visit just after the rainy season runs from late November through early April.
